HELLO  PARENT(S)/ GUARDIAN(S)!!

My name is Ms. Schnare.   I will be your child’s reading teacher for the next year at Atlantis Academy.   I am looking forward to teaching your child how to read or how to improve their  reading skills.  This is a very exciting time in your child's life when their reading skills can progress quite rapidly.  The ability to read makes it possible for your child to learn many new things; they can learn about people of different cultures as well as how plants grow.  Reading is basic to gaining knowledge in all other areas of education.

Reading is a passion of mine, and I am very excited about working with each of your children.  I keep up with the most current information about teaching your children to read.  I am in the process of becoming a reading specialist.

I have included some resources for you to explore to help your children to read better.  It is important that you spend time with your children every day reading to them and having them read to you as well.  The amount of time you spend in this activity, whether it is ten minutes or sixty minutes, is not as important as the consistency of doing this actitvity with them every day!
